    Quality, strength, style and a solid foundation ... these are some of the features most people want when choosing a home. Since 1953 S. S. Steele Homes, a family-owned business, has constructed homes with these features and more for families in Florida and Alabama.

    There are 21 standard brick models to choose from, but we also make upgrades and adjustments to the floor plans to meet the needs of our customers. The homes are custom built on the owner's lot or land.

    There are many advantages to buying a S. S. Steele home. We're competitively priced with homes ranging from a 1,040 square-foot, one-bath to a 2,495 square-foot, three bath. Our company attributes the great pricing to two things. We buy materials in large quantities at low prices, and then we pass those savings to the customer. We also produce our own wall panels and trusses, which saves money for the new homeowner. Since the panels and trusses are built in a controlled environment, we're able to ensure higher quality control.

    The customer has a strong voice in the construction of the homes. They choose the floor coverings, brick, roofing, cabinets, carpets and marble.

    S. S. Steele & Company was founded in Mobile, AL by Samuel S. Steele in 1953. In 1965, our company opened a branch in Pensacola.  Samuel Steele started the business constructing economical, aluminum-siding homes averaging 1,100 square feet.  We have evolved to more durable brick homes averaging 1,800 square feet featuring items such as fireplaces, garden tubs, cathedral ceilings and many other features in a large percentage of the homes.

    Our company has built over 7,000 homes since 1953 and spans three generations in the Steele family.  We attribute the secret of our successful business to following trends and providing good dollar value for our homes.
