S. S. Steele Homes was founded in Mobile, AL in 1953. Launched by Samuel S. Steele, the business initially focused on building economic homes. Each house measured approximately 1,100 square feet. Today we build brick homes that average 1,800 square feet and feature special touches that homeowners value, such as cathedral ceilings, fireplaces, and garden tubs.

Our History

In 1965, the then 12-year-old company opened a branch in Pensacola, FL. To date, we’ve built more than 8,000 homes in Alabama and Florida, with three generations of Steele family members proudly carrying on the legacy that began in the early fifties. The secret to our success is our ability to follow trends and provide value to our customers. Each house is custom-built on the owner’s lot or land.

Our homes are a step above but still economically priced. New brick homes can be completed in less than six months. We offer 21 brick models, with our one-story home boasting up to 9-foot ceilings.
